  • Fall Rally South 11.14.09

Fall Rally was surely an unforgettable day for me. It was my first fall rally and not my last! How I do love my Key Clubbers!

The day started off arriving at lakewood high to get picked up by the bus. We had 14 people go including Ms. Parras. We were all supposed to be there at 7:30 just to give everyone enough cushion time since we were supposed to be on the bus and on our way to cerritos by 8:00 am. Thing was.. we were missing one member. I knew he was asleep... so eventually we got a hold of him and he had to scrury and get to Cerritos by 8:20. He made it!

So we were off to Six Flags! We left at about 8:30 so that leaves like an hour to two hours for the bus ride there.. It wasn't the most exciting bus ride because we didn't really know cerritos.. at all. So.. a long bus ride to six flags and we when we got there, we saw an endless amount of buses! In front of us, on the side of us, behind us! Buses from San diego! from cities i have never heard of! Just seeing the buses got me really excited (: We finally got off the bus and headed for the front entrance.. we got lazy so we took the tram lol. What first got us pumped must have been the one bus driver to ask us how we felt. For those who don't know what it is.. It is a key club cheer that we do when someone asks us .. "HOW DO YOU FEEL!?" We chant...

    "WE FEEL GOOD
    OH WE FEEL SO GOOD
    *thrust*
    WE FEEL FINE
    ALL OF THE TIME
    ABOOGA (x5)"

We would sing this all day long.

After reaching the entrance, Ms. Parras had to get the tickets and so Del and I snuck off to meet up with Warren and Norwalk! We had a fun time just having our mini reunion. I let them borrow the face paint that steven gave jackie who gave to me. So a lot of our division had marks on their face (: It was almost 11:30! Our rally! Most of our division were barely getting their tickets around 11:20! We all scurried to get our tickets, through the metal detector gates, and through the main entrance to the park, and RUN all the way to the theater making sure all the laggers knew where to go. We had to go all the way across the theater because where Downey sat.. there were no seats.. :/ So once it started and everyone sat down the auction of the LTGs began. During the whole time, Susie, Darlene, Joey, and I scrambled to get more money from our division and we ended up getting a total of about $244? Kevin, our wonderful LTG, went up for auction.. and the first bid was like 290 something! >[ we automatically got outbidded..we felt bad :[[ Darlene and I were at the bottom and we were like.. WE STILL LOVE YOU KEVIN! Anyways.. we ended up getting more money AFTER Kevin went up for auction.. and so we decided that we should combine 13 N and 13 S money to buy Cheyenne.. about 770? but STILL that wasnt enough! Kevin was bought for $500 and Cheyenne was bought for $1000! When the rally was all over... we all marched out of the theater and I saw people throwing away their thunder stix.. I was like NOOOoo! But I got to keep mine because no one saw me ^_^. We took a divisional group picture and after that everyone split up. Del and I went with Susie and other Norwalk people.. leaving our own school haha.

RIDES? no. FOOD! Everyone was hungry and we walked towards Goliath.. to see if the line was short then we would ride it and THEN eat. But it was closed. So Key Clubbers packed the little food court next to it and we just sat there and ate our Nachos and Turkey Legs.. oh man turkey leg is good. My nachos supreme got soggy.. but still good! After eating and buying a souvenir cup that Del Susie and I pitched in to buy and drink for the entire day... we went to ride.. one of the log rides. It was the one that wasnt really a log. I sat behind Joe and he blocked most of the water splashing on to me haha. Then we went to Tatsu. It was fun (:

After Tatsu, we headed for the LOG ride under the huge tree. Guess who we saw? CHEYENNE NATION sitting by herself! >[ no way. that doesn't fly. So I was like... CHEYENNE. you are getting kidnapped. and everyone took her while I sat at her spot.. hoping that the people who abandoned her would find me in her spot and be like.. WHERED SHE GO?! but they didnt come after like a minute.. so we just took her. lol. We had a funnel cake stop and people just sat and relaxed for a bit. We also took pictures with daffy duck and bugs bunny and the six flags dancing man! He surely has some moves. Then off to the log ride! We saw how everyone got really wet.. and Joe was going to make me sit in the front! but I was like noooo so i guess we ended up sitting like in the back and the people who sat in the back last time sat in the front? It was topsy turvy. Then we got soaked. The jet just HAPPENED to choose our boat to shoot it's water... My hair and clothes got drenched and I was cold. Then I see the boat behind us with Cheyenne in the front and she was wet! aha she was brave for choosing to sit in the front. Pamela too! Oh and this was Cheyenne's FIRST ride of the day! Okay so it was almost 5 and we wanted to ride one more thing before time was up! We opted for Ninja. As we were all walking, Cheyenne said she had to leave :[ so she left. On our way to Ninja, we circled one group of key clubbers and asked how they felt. haha it was epic because we totally surprised them! So..Everyone started to run up the hill to ninja.. and then slowly walked because it was such a long.. way.. up. While waiting in line for Ninja, the announcer guy asked us Key Clubbers how we felt. We did it. Then throughout the entire thing, I heard him ask it three times. After Ninja, we took one last group picture of everyone and headed for the buses. We all said our good byes... :[ I am really going to miss everyone.

I had so much fun today. Even though we did a lot of HOW DO YOU FEEL and those responses.. we didn't do too many spirit battles.. the ones we did.. we sorta failed because we didn't know when to end. x] In the end, we were all tired, cold, but really happy because our entire group had a blast! Also did I tell you about my random sightings of Darlene Yao?! Every time we saw each other we would hug and be like WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? Ahh it was funny. Thanks for everyone who made my day! An unforgettable day for sure. Next year... oh boy I am already excited. :DD

Endless games of billiards. Need for Speed stick shift. All nighter. Beach sunrise failure. Sleep at 6am.

    Saturday.
Woke up at 8am. Beach at 10am. Practiced for about an hour. Current pushed us super far north. Waves were on the period. Good waves then suddenly flat. Competition around 12. Stoked! Failed. Caught waves, didn't ride any. Penguin and underwater butterfly spinner right after the horn rang. Got out 2 minutes too early. Ran back in like an idiot. Ended with no waves. 3rd in my heat with like 8 pts. More billiards in the arcade. Showed Connie Beachwood motel. Got lured to going to the bodysurfing party. Step Brothers. Didn't get really good waves nor rode them long. No spinners. No penguins. All underwater dolphin. Went RIGHT! Didn't make it to the final heat. Rushed to get things out of the hotel to check out. Took Connie to the railroad track to shine the coins [: but forgot to get them back... Watched Ikko's heat. Watched a lot of the final heats. Watched the awards ceremony. Ride home. Gossip Guys. Knocked out at 8pm and woke up at 8am. :] Slept a total of 10hrs from friday night to saturday night.

  • Is it my fault?

Is it really my fault that I bought cereal at 2 for $8? I understand that money is tight and that money doesn't grow on trees. I thought I was saving money by buying cereal that came with a bargain. Who thought that it was expensive. I guess it is my fault that I was craving some good cereal; Recess puffs and Captain Crunch, and those two just happened to be on sale. I didn't realize that cereal could come at $2 a box when it was on sale at a grocery store. I'm sure I shouldn't have bought the cereal, but I was craving it. Really bad. Walgreens was the closest thing and unless I were to illegally take my car out before having my license to go to a cheaper store.. I don't think anyone would have benefited from that experience.

Your telling me that I have been spending money like crazy this summer? I won't lie, I agree, this has been my most costliest summer. With my 16th birthday bonfire we spent about $100. With my Oceanside trip this weekend, it'll be about another $100. With the ISA concert, it'll be $50. Lets say that I've spent $100 on food expenses and other smaller things over the summer as well. So I have spent about $350. I know that is quite hefty since I do not have my own job. I apologize that I did not apply this summer for a job, I understand that I need to get that life guarding job I promised to next year. When you compare me to my friend who's parent was just laid off, and you say how my friend does not have it as good as me.. well, you don't know the half of it. In fact, my friend attends theme parks, fairs, and goes out to a lot of places where it requires the spending of money on food, admission, and other things.

I am sorry my older brothers do not have the job you want them to have. I am sorry that my brothers and I don't always listen to you as we should. That we don't do everything you want us to. That we aren't anything close to what you would have imagined. Truth of the matter is, we are those good kids. We talk back and at times act slightly disrespectful towards you because we all wish for you to change your ignorant and stubborn ideals on human society. Like the way you think all our friends are going to turn on us one day and betray us. The way that you think that you can trust no one in life but yourself, not even your own husband or family members. The way that you absorb the details about your niece's and nephew's angelic life, told by their parents and how you make it seem we are inferior only to realize that they don't talk bad about their children. The fact that you assume we love our father more than we love you because we talk back to him less when in reality, our father keeps the peace and gives us more guilt than we would ever feel in one sitting from anyone.

We truly love you. Okay this is my blog, but .. I truly love you. I love you and dad.. equally. I wish that one day, you come to realize that your children have always loved you from day one and that as much as you want to make us better people in life, we would also want to enhance your life by changing your ideas on society and people in general. Like any parent, you and dad have had the most impact in our lives and I know i speak for my brothers as well. If only you read this blog, if only you knew I wish for change, if only you knew how much I care for you without showing it as much as I should.

Here is my vent. my rant. my thoughts on my mother in one sitting. These thoughts have lingered in my mind for quite some time and it just kills me how my mom can be such a downer in life. I wish she wasn't, I wish I could help change that.

  • ISA is a GOOOO

Today, my aunt is supposed to come over later in the evening to surprise my mom. I called my mom to make sure she wouldn't go to buy groceries after work or anything so she would be home on time. My mother got extremely suspicious and she asked me why she wants her to be home on time. Since my aunt was coming over, I had to miss practice.. and I came up with a really lame excuse saying that I wanted to spend more time with my mom since I was missing practice for her. She let it go after that, but I knew she didn't really buy it... mothers are smarter than you will ever think! lol. So when she got home, I was helping her out in the kitchen and I slickly brought up if I really couldn't go to the concert. Here's the convo.

    Me: So i can't go?
    Mom: nope, just no
Me: Even though I don't know when the next time this will be in LA?
Mom: (gives in) fine.. ONLY if I take you there!

All in all, that was the plan. I knew she would say that the only way I could go was if she could take me.. and that is perfect since none of my friends want to drive. :D Boy, today is great! I bought captn crunch and recess puffs and ate 3 bowls of captn crunch. Which makes me happier than you'll ever know! I get to go to ISA! And.. my aunt's coming over!
  • ISA is a no go.

So del and I were really excited to go to the ISA concert on the 6th of September, right before school starts. It would have been a great way to end the summer! As Del and I were plotting on how to purchase VIP tickets and everything, my mom was eavesdropping on our plan and interrogated me about the use of a credit card and online purchasing. So, at about 2 AM in the morning, i let her in on my plan and how I wanted to go. Oh boy, I couldn't have asked for a better timing to ask her. She obviously said no. :[ When she came home from work, I showed her the One Days: HK by Wong Fu. I showed her these clips because they were filmed in HK and spoke the language we spoke, Cantonese. Even though I tried sucking up to her as much as I could, she still said she would think about it... but in her eyes it is a no. I was really looking forward to it too! Who knows when the next time it'll be in LA.. since this is the homecoming...oi.
